390 GT Fairlane project car
Here’s a nice project for big block Ford fans. It’s a 390 GT 1967 Fairlane with a few nice factory options including front disc brakes and bucket seats. Ford redesigned the Fairlane in 1967 and gave enough room between the front fenders to stuff the FE series big block. The 390 cid was the first big block and came as either a GT or GT-A (for automatic transmission). The GT package included heavy duty suspension, engine dress up parts, a GT hood and disc brakes.
This particular Fairlane 500 will need a lot of elbow grease to clean out and polish off the signs of decades sitting out in a Nebraska field. But it might not be quite as bad as it looks. There’s sure to be rust, but it doesn’t appear to be completely falling apart. The body panels are all in decent shape with no signs of a serious accident. Hopefully someone will save this muscle car from the elements and get her back on the road soon.
