1969 Mustang 428 CJ

It took an act of God to uncover this rare 428 Cobra Jet powered 1969 Mach 1. It had been sitting in a Florida barn with other classic cars for years when a hurricane came through and literally tore the roof right off. The building was trashed, but luckily this Mustang wasn’t damaged. But it did force the owner to finally offer up this Mustang for sale.

This is a true R code Mach 1 with factory 4 speed and shaker hood. Both the engine and transmission have been left alone amazingly. It even still sports the original Candyapple Red paint, which obviously needs to be repainted, but it’s a great sign that all the sheet metal is still in place with no major accidents. (the hood being the one exception) The foundation seems very solid. Rust has found it’s way into the typical areas on a Mustang, but not too bad considering the high humidity of Florida. Floor pans, torque box, rockers and rear quarter panels need work.
