An original Powerglide Super Sport
Wow! What a cool '63 Impala project car! Not only is it one of the greatest looking of the early Impalas, but it's a factory 409 "Turbo Thrust" car. You know, as in the famous Beach Boys song? And to top it off it has the rare SS (Super Sport) package, factory black vinyl top and a Powerglide automatic transmission.
The big problem is the engine and transmission are gone. That's a big part of this car's rarity and worth. There's rust in this car, but not as much as you might expect. It's been sitting in the desert for three decades, which certainly has helped protect the sheet metal from the worst of it. There are some pinholes and surface rust, but supposedly the areas of full rust through are small, like the lower sections of both front fenders. Really it looks like a very straight Impala that hasn't been messed with too much over the years. It would be great a rare Chevrolet like this restored.

77,000 original mile Camaro stored for 30+ years
Someone got a deal on this true barn find 1967 Camaro RS. It sold on eBay recently for $9,472. Yes, I know the "barn find" term is used these days for just about any old car that has a layer of dust on it, but this one was honestly pulled out of an Ohio barn. It sat there for 30 plus years and only has 77,000 original miles on the odometer. Supposedly with a quick fluid flush, new starter and fresh battery she started up just fine. 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Uncovered
Barry sends in this 1959 Corvette that's been uncovered after a few decades. He said it was found in a guy's shop after sitting for 28 years. It comes with a fresh 283 matching motor, a 4 speed out of a 1961 Vette and both tops. It would be great to see a classic Corvette like this back on the road.
Edit Monday, February 27, 2012 - This Corvette has now been sold. Good luck to the new owner. Hope to see some progress photos of the restoration.

World's roughest Camaro convertible!
As the owner aptly states, "this has got to be the world's roughest 1967 Camaro convertible!" There's so much metal cancer that the cowl & firewall have actually separated from the frame. It's missing the entire front clip, drive train, all body panels, glass interior and any semblance of what could be considered a floor. The story was it was wrecked in the front and then stripped of all it's useful parts. Read the rest of this entry »

1967 Chevrolet Corvette Big Block
This is one of those I-Spy games. Can you find the muscle car hidden in these pictures? I'm told this twisted mass of rusted metal is a '67 Corvette. A 427 cid big block no less. But unless you've got a sharp eye for Corvettes you wouldn't know it. Read the rest of this entry »

Documented Indy 500 Pace Car Camaro
Now this would make a sweet project. It's a documented '69 Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car. This Z-11 convertible has the proper trim tag and VIN as well as the original protect-a-plate from when the car was first sold in March of 1970. Read the rest of this entry »

'67 Chevy Camaro Rally Sport
It's really a pity to see a great car like this abandoned and up on blocks. It's been stripped of so many of it's parts and then left out in the yard to rust. Floor boards, rear quarters and truck floor are all swiss cheese with cancer. Read the rest of this entry »

1956 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
This '56 Corvette shell and chassis has been sitting in storage for over 35 years. It was stripped in 1974 for a restoration, but as we all know sometimes real life gets in the way of our hobbies. The original 265 engine is long gone as is the rest of the drive train. No word on whether this was originally a 3 speed manual or a Powerglide automatic. Read the rest of this entry »

1955 Corvette
Sometimes those stories about a dream car tucked away in some old guy's barn aren't too far off. Here's a candidate for a really nice project. It's a 1955 Corvette that looks to be Pennant Blue. This was a super rare color with only 45 produced because it was replaced early in 1955 with Harvest Gold.
Actually all of the 1955 Corvettes are very rare, with only 700 produced. This was compared to 3,640 made the year before. The release of Ford's brand new Thunderbird was part of that sales decline and rumor was that the Corvette project would be short lived at GM.
Not much more info available on this car, but it sure would be fun to wrench on. Read the rest of this entry »
