1969 Mach 1 – 351

1969-mustang-mach-1-011969 Mustang 351-2v Mach 1

This car could be the twin sister to this other 1969 Mach 1 posted back in Feb. They literally could have rolled off the assembly line one after the other. They're both 351-2V cars, both Mach 1's, both built at the Metuchen, NJ Ford plant, both Silver Jade paint with gold Mach 1 side stripes.... and both sitting in a junk yard stripped out and totally neglected. 1968-mustang-fastbacks-3Three 1967-68 Mustang Fastbacks

How would you like to stumble upon this find? Not one, not two, but three classic Mustang fastbacks. Two are 1968's and one is a 1967. Having 3 shells to start with seems like a good deal at first, but as you study these neglected Muscle cars more the appeal starts to wear off. They all need the same things, so the strategy of combineing into one nice project doesn't work very well. They all need serious sheet metal work, especially Read the rest of this entry »

1965-mustang-convertible-001965 Ford Mustang Convertible

How sad is this Mustang? They don't get much more abused and neglected then what you see here. This '65 convertible is so pitiful looking it's almost funny. Almost. Here sits this iconic example of the Pony car era and it's been reduced to sharing this scummy backyard with old appliances, broken down lawn mowers, Read the rest of this entry »

1969 Mach 1

1969-mach-1-31969 Mustang Mach 1

Original Mach 1's are getting harder to find, so this Silver Jade specimen really isn't too bad a project once you get past the rust. And there's a lot of that. The surface rust on this Mustang looks horrible, but a trip to the media blaster would probably clean that up pretty well. Read the rest of this entry »

70-boss-302-mustang1This 1970 Boss 302 Mustang has a serious case of body rot. Check out the Fred Flinstone floor pans. But it's a factory original Boss 302 so someone WILL restore it. The serial number ends in a G, verifying it's Boss status. Read the rest of this entry »

1968-mustang-coupe11968 Ford Mustang Coupe - "Fire Sale"

Not only was this '68 coupe wrecked, but the engine caught fire too! It had a decently built up 320, but it's not worth much now except for the block and heads. Read the rest of this entry »

1973-mustang-mach-1-31973 Mustang Mach 1

Wander through the back woods of West Virginia long enough and you might stumble upon this junk yard in the trees. Looks like there are a few other Musclecars tucked in there too. Looks like a Cougar behind it and a Challenger or Charger maybe? Read the rest of this entry »

1971 Mustang Convertible

1971-mustang-convertible-11971 Mustang Convertible

Here's another nice convertible wasting away in the woods waiting for someone to fix her up. 1971 was the first year of the really big Mustangs and many don't really see these cars as being on the same level as the early Mustangs. But if you like the body lines then the convertible is the one you want. Read the rest of this entry »

gold-nugget-in-weeds-41968 Golden Nugget Special Mustang

The Ford marketing team and dealerships did a lot in the 60's with regional promotional Specials. The 1968 Gold Nugget Special was one of those. It was an appearance package only. No performance goodies. The Golden Nuggets received special 'Sunlit Gold" paint, black out hood stripes and a black vinyl top. Read the rest of this entry »
