1971 Mustang Convertible
Here's another nice convertible wasting away in the woods waiting for someone to fix her up. 1971 was the first year of the really big Mustangs and many don't really see these cars as being on the same level as the early Mustangs. But if you like the body lines of this hefty Mustang then a convertible is a good choice. Ford only made 6,121 Mustang drop tops in 1971.
One reason this Mustang has been sitting so long is that it only has the 250 cid six cylinder engine. For a six the 250 has some power, but at around 3500 pounds the '71 Mustangs were a bit heavy to move without a V8. Given the low number of convertibles made the 6 cyl probably makes this ever more rare. But rare doesn't always equal desirable.
- An alignment might be in order. :)
- Just a little 6 cyl to haul all the weight.
- Is there a seat under those leaves?
